Releasing version 22.12 of Joseph Lee's add-ons #addonrelease
Hi all, Version 22.12 of my add-ons are being released and deployed. Due to the number of add-ons I’m updating, it will be divided into at least three parts:
The first set of add-on updates (Add-on Updater and Windows App Essentials) were queued for distribution on community add-ons website, and Add-on Updater will offer them on November 28, 2022 at 01:00 UTC (5 PM Pacific on November 27th). I expect to update the second set of add-ons by this time tomorrow (will update the thread then).
Changelog: Add-on Updater: localization updates.
Windows App Essentials: * Supported releases and builds across Windows 10 and 11 will be displayed if attempting to install the add-on on unsupported Windows releases including releases earlier than 10 and unsupported feature updates. * Removed most of Windows version detection code from WinAppObjs global plugin as it was ineffective in preventing the add-on from running in unsupported Windows releases. * Windows 11: If running on 22H2 beta builds (22622/22623), NVDA will recognize this fact and record this information in the log. * Windows 11 22H2 beta: Requires build 22623. * Transferred virtual desktop switch announcement from WinAppObjs global plugin to CSRSS (client/server runtime subsystem) ap module as announcements come from CSRSS. * Voice access: Microphone toggle state is announced once again in Insider Preview build 25200 series.

Hi, how do you enable the add-on updater? I do remember having to disable the add-on updater. I’d like to know how do i reenable the add-on updater for nvda? Thank you for any information that you might have concerning this question. do remember having to disable the app updater

Assuming you did this in the usual way, Open the NVDA menu.

Down arrow to tools and press enter. Down arrow to manage add-ons and press enter. You are in a list of add-ons. Find the add-on you want to work with and start tabbing. You will find an enable add-on button. Press the space bar. You will be asked if you want to restart NVDA. You need to do that to finish enabling the add-on. Answer yes. Hi, how are you? I should have asked about the add-on updater for nvda and whether it is on by default? That was the question that i should have asked. Thank you for your response.

Once you install it, it is on, now all you need to is go to tools, and check for add on updates, don’t quote me on the last step as I hardly do it, I instead wait for nvda to notify me.

As far as I know, all add-ons you install are on by default. If you
want to check, follow the procedure I gave and see if the button
says enable or disable. If it says disable, it is enabled. If it
says enable, it is disabled. I have never installed an add-on that
is disabled by default.
