Hi, I have a similar problem with ios 16. However, it’s not the iPhone. It’s with my watch 7 series. I use the seri 3 male voice. For me I have to reinstate it or redownload it. I keep getting Samantha. I hope maybe in the next major updates these problems will be rectified. I’ll say no more because this has nothing to do with NVDA.

for me also, vaani stopped working after few days of ios16 update and that issues was not rectified in further IOS upgradations else. So, i deleted tamil voice from languages settings in speech and decided to set espeak as default instead of eloquants. So, Espeak reads both english and tamil effectively and lekha switches whenever hindi text is found now. I have decided to leave eloquants at present to read english and tamil messages. English alone, i am not comfortable with espeak which i am trying to practice and overcome. In android, i am able to set eloquants for english and espeak for tamil using auto TTS setting. in windows pc, i am able to do the same using the dual voice NVDA add on. In ios alone, i am unable to find a way for this auto-switch synthesiser between eloquants and espeak and waiting for a solution.

And as I have asked before, are you talking about American Eloquence or the British Eloquence. I don't recall your answer. British Eloquence doesn't sound good and has a phony British accent, presumably because it was programmed by Americans who used their idea of an English accent. Clearly, they weren't specialists in British speech nor native born British speakers.

I really don't like Espeak as a synthe. However, any new voices
