Here's how you do it.

If you up arrow once from the button, depending on what your screen-reader is set to announce, you will either hear banner landmark and some text spoken or you will hear blank. This is where you go into focus mode to work with the edit field. Press enter, type the search, then press enter to perform the search. Gene On 12/5/2022 4:41 PM, Don H wrote:

a) cr.org & consumerreports.org are the same. b) There is a search field. If you hit the e key, it says blank. Press the spacebar & you can type your search text. Press enter & your results appear. Well, I'm on windows 10 latest, not 11, with latest released NVDA and firefox. And if I go to that button, turn browse mode off, make sure the button is in focus and then hit number pad search with number pad enter, the button activates and openes an edit field into which I could type something. Seems like a strange way to do things, but it did give me an edit field.

Will people please copy addresses from the address bar? The address is:

https://www.consumerreports.org/ It is not safe to go to addresses that are similar to well known addresses. Hackers purchase addresses that are similar to popular addresses. Sometimes that does not work, it's very, very rare when that does not, when enter does not work it's annoying as you need to then tab to a button that hopefully will show up in focus mode, then hot space, if not you need to find it in browse mode and hit enter there, or route and left click.
