Possible problem with Clip Speak
Gene
I am running the latest version of NVDA, 2022.4 and Windows 10, version 21H2. Clip Speak doesn't function. It didn't function in the last version of NVDA and probably not in earlier compatible versions, though I didn't make a point of remembering.
I had a beta version still on my machine and I tried installing it. It works properly. Do other people have a problem with the stable version of Clip Speak? I don't want to report a problem if it isn't one other people have. Gene |

Did you check the NVDA log to see what is the problem? If you want, contact me privately by: rui.fontes@... Às 16:27 de 05/01/2023, Gene escreveu: I sent the wrong version information. The correct information is: |

I didn't check the log. I may. I may uninstall and reinstall NVDA to see if that solves the problem.

Mine even works in Windows 7 with that version and the latest nvda. Could there be some odd clash with another add on that you have but others do not, perhaps?

Could there be some odd clash with another add on that you have but others do not, perhaps?- Always a possibility. I use the NVDA Add-On equivalent of the Windows clean-boot process (tech geeks will know) to try to determine this. It's a fairly straightforward process of dividing and conquering by halves. In add-on manager, you disable the top half of your add-ons (except, in this case, Clipspeak if it's in the top half), then then restart NVDA and see if Clipspeak works as expected. If it does, then you know that one of those disabled add-ons is the culprit, and if it doesn't, you re-enable all those add-ons because this tells you that it's something in the "lower half" if it's an add-on at all. Then, once you've determined which "half" has the problem child, you re-enable half of that half, test again, lather, rinse repeat as above. You zero in on the culprit pretty darned quickly this way even if you have a long list of add-ons you're using. And, yes, it's tedious, but diagnostics always are. -- Brian - Virginia, USA - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 22H2, Build 19045; Office 2016, Version 16.0.15726.20188, 32-bit "Be Yourself" is the worst advice you can give to some people. ~ Tom Masson |
