Hmmm.

Do you use an smart device?

Tunein should have most or iheart.

There is a chance that most of the stations you want are there so only need to brouse a couple.

Spotify can do some stations.

Personally I'd like a net radio where you can browse stations.

During the last major storm here a couple weeks ago, the main transmition point in auckland had an internal system failure.

This knocked 99.9% of all stations offline.

Tv, digital, and most am with some fm still existed but the majority of radio broadcasts were offlined for at least 2.5 hours.

No news broadcasters shared it, I went to one of the stations in question and looked and it was on the newspaper but well that.

Point is, with the climate going on and a possible nuclear shootout we probably need to find more digital stations as it is.

When I read your title I did wonder if one of the following might be your aim.
1. Web SDR usage that is accessible with nvda, something I've never tried, ie short wave listening using somebody elses receiver
2 a way to control your local short wave scanner from the computer via USB or serial etc.

I know an obsolete suite from ICOM was quite good, but it was never perfect, sadly.

I use Tapin Radio.  I don't use it much but you should know that it is not free.  There is a trial period and I don't think it costs a lot, at least in American dollars.

Though I don't use it much, it seems to have a good or pretty good selection of stations.

Of course here in the UK we have a lot of restrictions where radio stations outside of the UK cannot be accessed directly, due to legal action by the recording industry in the courts.
I have to say that Amazon Alexa to the rescue as if the station has a skill it can bypass this, and even some generic ones like my tuner radio can get around it as the addresses it links are not in the uk. Tune in is no good because they have a UK server.
Anyway this is off topic.
I never had much luck with radio garden as it seems to be map based and mostly graphical, so I doubt any screenreader would help.

Hi,

There's also Radio Sure. It is fully accessible and uses standard controls.

Thanks.

The only software I know of that even does this is SDR Sharp, which
seems to be mostly not accessible. If there are other programs, I'd be
interested as well.

If you want to listen to A.M. and short wave in different parts of the world, there is an accessible SDR

There may be others, but I haven't tried to find out.

This one is called KiwiSDR.

I'm not sure what you will find with a search but I believe I have a web page I can send you with a list of a lot of locations you can follow links to listen to.

Hmm, that might be the service my friend couldn't remember the name of
when we were talking about this stuff the other day. I'll have to look
into it and see what it looks like. I was under the impression that
the person asking the question had an SDR they wanted to figure out an
accessible way to tune. If in fact remote radios are what is wanted,
there's also Global Tuners. I had a radio there for about three and a
half years, but got bored with the site overall after about two.
