Dynamic content recognition

Misty Allen

I’m looking for some assistance with a recent problem with NVDA reading the dynamic content on the twitch.tv website. It has read the chat successfully in the past but has suddenly stopped in the last couple of weeks. I have tested the dynamic content controls, rolled my NVDA download to a prior version, uninstalled and reinstalled NVDA, tested both Chrome and Firefox, watched the training videos on YouTube and read through the user guide. I have no idea what else to try. Any advice would be appreciated.

Is might be a twitch thing, they recently broke the content manager where I have  to play with the quick keys as tab in focus mode really does not work anymore.

Oh no… I am going to contact someone who has been in contact with me regarding the accessibility of Twitch in the past and see if we can figure anything out. Thanks for the feedback and if you learn anything new please let me know.

Good luck, they fired the accessibility person a few years ago. I hope you have better luck than I did. I now use object navigation to get around most of the site. I should not have to, however, I kind of have no choice. I can’t even use the new features they have as a streamer.

Do you have any add on's for NVDA?  If so, try reading the information after turning off the Add On's and see if that helps.  If not, then I'd turn a bug in on this.  However, you might have a sighted helper look at the site to see if it reads normally.  Good luck.

I do not have any add ons. I have had a sighted friend both check the site and asked a friend to download NVDA and run it on a different computer just to see if it was consistant across machines before posting here. In the meantime, a friend has written me up a little program to use in a seperate browser to read the chat window but a great deal of my confusion is in why it started. I can put in a bug on it but am wondering if its something that was changed on the website manager’s end. If so, I would like to try to poke them because they have been touting the idea of accessibility around in the last year. Sadly, I am seriously not very tech adept so I’m trying to understand the problem before I start anything.

When something like this happens and you know there has been no change in your screen-reader that could cause it, it is likely some change made in whatever you are working with.
