Add on for the NVDA Store

Has the store been updated lately.  I'm not able to find it to check.  It is uncompatible with NVDA 23.1.

I had to do a restore because remote did not work with the new nvda.

Hi.  I need to contact a couple of the add-on developers because their add-ons are incompatible with NVDA 2023.1.  I can read the E-mail addresses listed in "Manage add-ons", but is there a way to copy them to the clipboard so that the message is being sent to the correct person?  Some of the E-mail addresses are rather complicated, so it would be easy to make an error.

Do the following:
These are desktop keyboard layout commands.
When the about dialog opens, issue the command numpad insert+numpad8.
That is, hold numpad insert and press numpad 8.
then use numpad 7 to move back a line, numpad 8 to read the current line, and numpad 9 to move to the next line.

Once you are on a line with names and e-mail addresses, use numpad 4 to move to an e-mail address, if one is to the left of your position, and numpad 6 to move to the right by word until you come to an e-mail address you want to use.
At that point, issue the command numpad insert f9.  You will hear start marked.
use numpad 3 to move forward through the address until you get to the last letter.  If you go to far, move back with numpad 1.  When you are on the last letter, use the command numpad insert f10.
press it quickly twice.  You will hear something about copied to clipboard.

Paste it into the address field of the e-mail message you write.

I believe you mean Numpad Insert+Numpad 7.

That is, hold numpad insert and press numpad 8.
Any insert will be fine. And again it's Numpad7.

And after all the rest, when you're done copying, press Insert+Numpad1, to reset the review mode back to object. Can't remember if Gene included that.

You can also use Speech History, Speech Logger, or a similar add-on, to capture things NVDA says in a more effective way than trying to remember them.

You can of course grab the whole text as well, and just edit the result when pasted into notepad.
I can never remember all the steps for what to do to be precise in a read only display.

I meant numpad 8.  I gave instructions for using object navigation mode, not screen review mode to do what is being asked.  Screen review mode instructions would be similar, but not exactly the same.  But, it would have been a good idea if I had said to use numpad insert numpad 1 as the first step in the instructions in case the person had switched to review mode at some point.  So, follow my instructions, but first, issue the command numpad insert numpad 1 until you hear either object navigation or no previous review mode.  Either thing you hear means you are in object navigation mode.

Hi Louise,

Use the NVDA + F9 and NVDA + F10 when in the screen review mode to view the about dialogue in the add on configuration screen under tools/manage add-ons. I almost never hear anyone mention this method any more, but it has helped me out numerous times in dialogues which contain information and links but are not clickable.

Use object nav and copy the object to the clipboard, pasted into notepad and extract the email from there. I do this all the time when pasting stuff such as what I did with my signature for this message.

It doesn't, but it's legitimate thread drift.  Read the topic from beginning to end and you'll see how it arrived where it has, and why.

This is a natural consequence in certain discussions, and since no thread hijacking has occurred, and what's being discussed is a natural outgrowth of the conversational flow based on the original query, it's OK.
