blue yonder

The Gamages

Hello,

I have a froend who is using blue yonder as his e mail client, I understand this is associated with Virgin media. but will it work with NVDA?.

He was using Guide from Dolphon but it no longer works with the version of guide and updating will cost lots.

Has anyone had experience with Blue yonder? comments please and thank you.

Brian's Mail list account

I have a Blueyonder address.
Yes its Virgin. Basically, it is merely an alias. Since the complete move to Virgin addresses, we are still able to continue using our existing blueyonnder accounts. However if we change an address then it will come out as virgin. Effectively there is no difference and NVDAs updates via the web work though Virgin, so really there is no issue at all.
Like all ISPs occasionally a batch of addresses of the servers can get on a spam black list which can cause loss of email or inability to get email to certain people for a short time while the situation is sorted, but as I say, I don't see how any of that should affect nvda.

If you don't like their webmail interface, then use an email client. That is what I do.

Hello Brian,

Thank you very much for that, I can now see that the blue yonder adrress is just an account name and not an e mail client, I wil check, but I thimk he is using a webmail interface, in which case he will be fine to use NVDA.

I will probably suggest he changes to an e mail client, this is usually better for blind people.

Thanks once again for your invaluable help.

Best Regards, Jim.

Well, I found their last incarnation of webmail, which is the virgin one, hard going in any screenreader, but I mostly use clients as to my mind, they can change webmail interfaces any time they like, but clients just mostly go on working.
