folder view list

Don H

Running latest NVDA on Win 10 20h2. Usually when I first boot my computer and load nvda when going to the desktop I simply hear the title of the icon I am on. However other times nvda says folder view list before saying the name of the icon. What causes this? No big deal just wonder why the difference.
Thanks

I get something similar, but not exactly the same, when NVDA first fires up.  It will be interesting to hear what the explanation is.  I've been ignoring it "forever."

If you think that you can think about a thing, inextricably attached to something else, without thinking of the thing it is attached to, then you have a legal mind.

Here is a little more info. As I said when on the desktop it will say either desktop view or file list view. If you tab to the show desktop button and hit enter on it it toggles between the two. But what agin is the difference between desktop view and file list view?
