It should, but what problem are you having?  Often, when people ask how to do something, what they want to do isn't a good solution or an efficient one.  I believe people should generally explain what they actually want to accomplish such as what problem they want to solve when they ask how to do something because I've seen this so many times.  People give the help the user wants, then later, in further discussion, it comes out that the actual problem is much better or more likely to be solved in a different way.

The instructions that were given you earlier are the correct ones, mostly. However the user forgot to put the percent signs around the "appdata" that you type in the run dialog.
It should be:

%appdata%

However, I agree with Gene: you almost certainly shouldn't do this. If you're just going to install the same version of NVDA again, there is probably a far less dramatic solution that you can try. If this is all about the thing with the Tom voice and the prompt to install a replacement, if my last instructions don't help you solve that problem, it is likely that cycling NVDA installations like you want to do, won't solve it either.

So please tell us why you want to do this.
