Important notice on Joseph Lee's add-ons: February 2023 releases to require both NVDA 2022.4 and Windows 10 November 2021 Update or later
Hi all, The below notice applies if you are using the following add-ons: Add-on Updater, Enhanced Touch Gestures, Event Tracker, GoldWave, Object Location Tones, ObjPad, Office Desk, Resource Monitor, Sound Splitter, StationPlaylist, Windows App Essentials: The next updates to these add-ons will be released in early February 2023. All of my add-ons will require NVDA 2022.4 or later. In addition, all add-ons except Add-on Updater will require Windows 10 November 2021 Update (Version 21H2/build 19044) or later installed. Originally, I planned to introduce newer Windows 10 requirement later in 2023. However, to avoid overwhelming myself when NVDA 2023.1 beta 1 is released (2023.1 is a compatibility breaking release at the moment), I decided to move Windows release requirement to an earlier date. The bigger reason will be explained in an upcoming post. Also, my original plan called for asking you to use Windows 10 2022 Update (Version 22H2/build 19045), but I figured that this would not work well for enterprises, thus I decided to support 21H2 so people can have more time to migrate to newer Windows releases. If you cannot upgrade to a newer Windows 10 release for whatever reason, my advice at this time is to use Media Creation Tool or Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant to upgrade to Windows 10 22H2. Thank you. Cheers, Joseph |

Hi all, Two important updates:
This change is due to preparations being made in NVDA source code to:
In either case, the final add-on releases will include localization updates from translators. At least seven days after the final add-on releases, end of life add-ons will be declared legacy on community add-ons website (I will remind people about add-on source code repositories on NVDA add-ons list, not here). Hi all, For folks using Add-on Updater: as part of NVDA 2022.4 requirement for upcoming add-on releases, effective January 23, 2023 at 23:00 UTC, Add-on Updater will not offer updates to add-ons unless you are using NVDA 2022.4. At the same time, community add-ons website will begin listing changelogs for 23.02 add-on releases (ahead of time so translators can translate what's new entries). This does not mean version 23.02 of my add-ons will be released by then - they will be released around February 3, 2023 or within 24 hours of NVDA 2023.1 beta 1 release, whichever happens earlier. Cheers, Joseph |
