Many thanks for the NVDA wave files.
Especially for this NVDA Newbie.
My question is this, I down loaded the zip folder of wave files, how do I get them inside NVDA to take advantage of them?
Many thanks.

Hello everyone,

some years ago the sounds of NVDA should have been renewed, but were discarded.

Do any of you still have these sounds and could you send them to me?

Thank you very much in advance and best regards Ali

Hi Ralf, from Ron Kolesar.
Thanks to your drop box folder, I now have the audio wave files for NVDA.
How do I install them into NVDA to work?
Many Thanks.
Ron

C:\program files (x86)\nvda\waves
Replace the files.
They need to have the same name as before.

Hi,

extract this zip file (https://www.dropbox.com/s/klk88lu406eyrla/NVDA%20new%20waves.zip?dl=1) and replace all files contains on NVDA\Waves folder in Program Files by files contains in this zip.

Gene

And since the extracted files are just plain wave files, you can listen to all of them first. You may decide you want them all, you may decide on some, or perhaps none.

Yep.  And if you do end up picking and choosing some of them, but not others, once you've got what you want copied over into C:\program files (x86)\nvda\waves as replacements, you'd be wise to ZIP up that folder so that you have it to conveniently unzip at a later date on a later install of NVDA that has the original sounds.

Sorry if this is something I missed but after downloading and extracting the zip, I'm not getting any audio when using Winamp to play one of these files.

I can hear them now.  I missed them since I have my main audio sent to
my bluetooth audio receiver so turned it off for now.

Try with another player. Winamp hates short wave files of under 1 second or sometimes 2. This has ben a bug for years now.

Bhavya shah

Hi all,

Special thanks to Kara and Andre. I keep the focus and browse mode
sounds disabled, and I will toy with the idea of modifying the start
and exit sounds, but what I am grateful for is to have been able to
change the error sound. The built-in one is very loud and, may I say,
obnoxious, and I think the alternative sound is a definite
improvement. Many thanks for that.

Thanks.
