New Vocalizer drivers

Hello!

With the release of NVDA 2023.1 the old Vocalizer drivers become incompatible.

To install the new drivers, do the following:

1 - Vocalizer Expressive

Just install the new driver and restart NVDA.

The new driver is at:

https://github.com/ruifontes/vocalizer_expressive_driver/releases/download/3.1.8/vocalizer_expressive_driver-3.1.8.nvda-addon

2 - Vocalizer, now renamed to Vocalizer Automotive

This old version of Vocalizer for NVDA have the synth internal name renamed to VocalizerAutomotive to differenciate from the one from CodeFactory...

Because of this modification it is necessary to remove the Nuance Vocalizer 5.5 driver through the Add-on manager.

After restarting NVDA, install the new version found at:

https://github.com/ruifontes/vocalizer_automotive_driver/releases/download/2.1.4/vocalizer_automotive_driver-2.1.4.nvda-addon

and restart NVDA.

What would you say are the differences, if any, between your add-on and Code Factory? Code Factory's license is around $11 cheaper in the U.S., but I am intrigued that your add-on was accessible from day one of the new NVDA version whereas Code Factory's product is not.

It said that my vocalizer Epressive driver is up to date; that if I wanted to update it nonetheless. So does this mean I’ve the latest driver installed? Because I went to check within the AddOns Manager, and it does say Version 3.18 as the version I’ve got.

Ruis driver use a OLD vocalizer

With old crappy voices

This is the most up to date version. If you have the add-on updater and didn't remove the add-on after you found it not working, I believe it will have it as well, but there is the link for you. I hope that helps.

If you want, we can provide you with a license for the old Vocalizer version that works on secure screens...

Will new voices be released for vocalizer expressive 3 soon? For exemple chantal canadian french and evens american english and stefany british english.
These voices are available in recent versions of Jaws.
