I noticed that after updating to the latest NVDA 2023.1.0 that the automatically start NVDA when logged on was unchecked! When I turned on my computer, NVDA just didn't seem to do anything so I used the hotkey and it came on so I know all is good there but then I found that box unchecked so it's fixed now, but why did it get unchecked anyhow? All my other settings seem to be fine though. TTS voice rate and speed etc haven't changed at all.

I'm honestly not sure why this sometimes gets unchecked, but it

happened to me after an update once as well. It didn't happen after the latest one though. What I found a little odd though is that NVDA didn't automatically offer me the latest update, I had to manually check. On 3/29/23, Roger Stewart <paganus2@...> wrote:

Every time I have updated NVDA for the last while, probably about the last year and a half or so, this problem has happened to me as well. Like you said, all of the other settings are untouched but The check box which says “start NVDA when I sign in“ is unchecked after I update. Don’t know why this happens.

Hi. I am having a simmilar issue. The settings under the vision category, change for me every few days perhaps every time nvda gets updated. For example, I have highlighting enabled, and I check the system focus and the brows cursor, but not the object navigator. When I check again after the nvda update the enable highlighting is unchecked, and when I check it again, all 3 options are checked and I have to uncheck the object navigation again. It is not a bigg problem, as I don't need often to show something to a sighted person, but why it changes I don't understand. All my other options are unchanged as far as I know. Brian's Mail list account
I've seen this as well, but not every time. I can only deduce that the.ini file was not saved when the old copy was shutting down.

It is difficult to reproduce on demand, and while a couple people have suggested directions that might lead to fixing it, nothing has yet worked out. Please report that it's still happening, along with your Windows and NVDA versions, on this ticket: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/8720 Luke |
