Pasting not working in wsl console
Abdulqadir Ahmad
I updated my NVDA today to nvda 2023.1. Immediately after updating, I noticed pasting on wsl console with ctrl-v doesn't work. It works on powershell though. To paste, I am currently using numpad multiply.
I haven't updated any of my add-ons so, non is working i guess. I read the what's new page and nothing was said about something like this. Please any idea what is wrong? I'm using win 10 22h2 build 1945. NVDA 2023.1 and wsl 1.1.3 |

The problem is with the WSL, some times an update of the WSL is enough Use ctrl +shift +V to paste, or just click the right mouse, and it will automatically paste the content of the clipboard

To paste, I am currently using numpad multiply.- Also remember that PowerShell is a part of the native Windows ecosystem itself, so the standard native Windows commands like cut, copy, and paste should be expected to work there. WSL is a hybrid beast that's best thought of as a kinda-sorta virtual machine that runs sandboxed from Windows itself. There are special ways to copy in either of those environments, and pass it through to the other. It sounds like in this case there is a typical cut or copy under Windows that requires a special paste command within WSL to pass that data through. And it probably works the same in reverse, too. -- Brian - Virginia, USA - Windows 11 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 22H2, Build 22621; Office 2016, Version 16.0.15726.20188, 32-bit It is much easier to be critical than to be correct. ~ Benjamin Disraeli, 1804-1881 |

My main problem with it is that i can't use it in command line text editors. On normal bash interface, I can just click numpad multiply and it will paste but it doesn't work in vim. I'll check if the problem might befrom the wsl.

The use of CTRL + SHIFT + C/V to work across ecosystems was, at least then, a setting that needed to be activated before using.
