Problem with name manager of excel
William
Hello all nvda users,
I came across a problem in excel, I contacted the Microsoft accessibility help desk and the staff told me that she didn't think it is a bug of excel, so I would like to seek for your advice. 1. Open excel 2. Use the define name function to define the name of a range, i.e. press alt+m, m 3. go to the name manager, i.e. ctrl+F3 4. there should be a close button there, but if I keep pressing tab, I cannot access the close button, 5. but if I press tab untill the new button, and then press shift +tab, the focus will land on the close button. The problem here is, the close button can only be accessed by using shift+tab, not tab. William |

William,
I presume in Step 2 you mean ALT + M, M, D. I can replicate this if I'm running NVDA with all the add-ons enabled, but it does not occur if the add-ons are disabled. Some Add-On is causing this. If you wish, we can compare our add-ons lists and see which we may have in common. -- It used to be understood that if you published and profited from a mass media platform you should also be responsible for its content. I can repro this. After the focus moves from the list of named ranges, to "refers to", the next tab seems to move the focus to the close button however the focus for NVDA moves to the list, and NVDA reports "List". I've written it up at: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/14380 Quentin. On Thu, Nov 17, 2022 at 2:39 PM William <xsuper.sillyx@...> wrote:

Thanks for creating the issue.- You should comment on that issue that you can replicate the issue, and giving the exact version of Excel that you're using. You can get this by opening the File Backstage View, activating the Account option, then in the Account pane activating the About Excel button so that the really detailed version is shown as the first line. You may want to activate speech history just before doing this so it's easy to cut and paste that information. -- It used to be understood that if you published and profited from a mass media platform you should also be responsible for its content. No I've not tried this, since I do not use the software, but going backwards around the whole tab list, does that alight on the button correctly, if you like from the other direction?
