Sometimes NVDA only reads the first line of an email in Outlook 2019 desktop but sometimes the same email will be read entirely. I use down arrow to select the email to read and then hit ENTER to bring up the read window.
I seem to be missing something here. Does anyone know how to make NVDA read entire emails after hitting ENTER? I realize that I could use "say all" but would prefer to keep the required inputs to a minimum and to have consistency. Thanks for this great resource! I use say all to read e-mails. I’m using a different program than you
for e-mail but if you do so, it will become so second nature after doing so
perhaps for only a few days, that it will take no time that matters and you
won’t even think about it anymore.
I doubt there is any setting you can change. There is a setting to
automatically read a page when in browse mode but that is on by default.

When I used to use outlook 2013, I used the say all command to read messages. I don’t know of a way to get NVDA to read out messages automatically.

I'd also consider getting Windows itself up to date. 21H2 is rolling out at the moment, so I wouldn't even bother with 21H1, which is what I have until 21H2 gets offered. If you use the Update Assistant on the Microsoft Windows 10 Download Page at this point it will fetch Version 21H2.

I either do Say All, or I just arrow up and down as needed.

It seems that NVDA reads an entire email the first time but when the same email is selected again only the first line is read out.

To my knowledge you can’t.
What I have worked out is this.
For me, if you get an HTML Email, then it will be read entirely. If the Email is a text Email as opposed to HTML, you’ll only get the first line.

This is why HTML Emails work, because the automatic say all option is turned on.
